A Restful Day(at last)

We wake up today in our huge hotel in Kii-kutsura to a great view.
This hotel is built on many levels and must have hundreds of rooms.
Breakfast is buffet style with such delicacies as corn flakes and bacon and eggs and sort of toast-we supply the vegemite!
We return to the mainland by boat
and visit the fish markets which frankly we found somewhat disturbing.

We then travel by train to Shingu for a visit to a shrine which requires a walk up a vertiginous set of stairs;

A fin e example of sensible persons
fortunately there are 2 members of our group who are sensible enough not to attempt this foolish and dangerous pursuit.
Then it is back onto the train

to the holy town of Ise where we visit the outer temple. Interestingly every temple in this complex is rebuilt every 20 years-an indictment of the quality of Japanese workmanship.

It is now beer a'clock and then to tonight's lodging and onsen.
Our final dinner together is a very jolly affair.
